Fast Mending
by Eymon__1
Fast Mending is a server-side Fabric utility that speeds up the Mending enchantment so that experience repairs gear much faster.
What it does
The mod changes the experience-to-durability conversion ratio used by Mending. In vanilla Minecraft, one point of experience restores two points of durability. With Fast Mending installed on the server, one point of experience restores 20 points, which lets enchanted tools, weapons and armor soak up experience far more quickly.
The mod is only needed on the server. Players join without installing anything, and it works the same in single-player worlds when the Fabric build is used there. Fabric Loader is required, and Fabric API is recommended for maximum compatibility. The release for 1.21.11 is the only game version listed, published on 2026-01-19 and updated on the same day.
Key features
Faster Mending repairs
Experience repairs items with the Mending enchantment at ten times the default rate, cutting the time spent on a single tool.
Smart repairing
Experience is applied to any Mending-enchanted item in the player's inventory, including tools, armor and weapons.
Lightweight performance
The change is built with Mixins, keeping the added work small on both the server and the client frame rate.
Server-side operation
The conversion change lives on the server, so clients need no install and join the server as usual.

Use cases
Long experience farms
Players who run an experience farm can restore a pickaxe or elytra in moments instead of spending ten minutes on one item.
Gear-heavy survival
Players who keep a full set of Mending-enchanted armor and tools can recover durability without stopping to repair each piece.
Who it’s for: Server owners who want Mending to repair gear faster, and players on a server that runs Fast Mending who would rather spend experience on repairs than wait out a long farm.
How it compares
Balanced Mending is server-side only and open source under the MIT License, published for Fabric across 1.19 – 1.21.4. XP Repair HUD is client-side only and released under the MIT License for 1.21.11, with no server-side effect on repair rates. Fixed Mending is installed on both client and server under the Creative Commons Attribution Share Alike 4.0 license, covering 1.21.1 – 1.21.5. Fast Mending is released under the MIT License, runs on the server alone and is not open source.

What the author says
Fast Mending is a lightweight utility mod designed to fix one of Minecraft's most tedious mechanics: the slow repair speed of the Mending enchantment. Have you ever stood at an XP farm for 10 minutes just to repair a single pickaxe? Those days are over! This mod tweaks the experience-to-durability conversion ratio…
