Enchantment Freedom
by Tenty
Enchantment Freedom lifts the mutual exclusivity between vanilla enchantments, so combinations that the game normally blocks can be placed on the same item.
What it does
Enchantments that vanilla keeps apart, such as Protection types, Fire Protection, Blast Protection and Projectile Protection, or Sharpness with Smite and Bane of Arthropods, can be combined on one item. Groups of enchantments that usually exclude each other also work together. Configurable toggles let the server decide whether exclusive sets can be combined, or whether they stay restricted.
The mod is aimed at players who want non-traditional gear in survival, whether in singleplayer or on a multiplayer server. Its features are deliberately simple and lightweight, focused on removing the restrictions and adding a few extra bonus features. Some hidden Easter Eggs and surprise features are included for curious players, and a gallery image shows a few of them.
Files exist for 1.21.5 – 26.3 on Fabric only, with Fabric API as the required dependency. A server running it needs every connecting player to have it too. The code is under the MIT License and is not open source. The first release came out on 2026-07-07 and the latest file, 1.0.2+mc26.3 for 26.3, was published on 2026-09-30. A bug that stopped the Night Vision effect from working was fixed in v1.0.2.
Key features
Combinable enchantments
Enchantments that vanilla marks as incompatible can be placed on the same item, widening the possible builds.
Protection and damage combinations
Protection types, Sharpness, Smite and Bane of Arthropods can stack together rather than replacing one another.
Configurable exclusive sets
Toggles decide whether exclusive sets can be combined, so server owners set the limits.

Use cases
Custom survival gear
Players build armor and weapons that carry combinations vanilla does not allow, such as a heavily protected set with several protection types.
Server-tuned rules
Server owners use the toggles to allow some exclusive sets and keep others restricted.
Who it’s for: Players who want to test unusual enchantment combinations in survival, in singleplayer or on a multiplayer server, and server owners who want to adjust which exclusive sets can be combined.
