Eldertide
by Feroov
Eldertide adds a tamable dwarven skeleton that digs, collects and fights alongside its owner, with a custom GUI for giving it tasks.
What it does
Eldertide brings a set of mystical creatures into the world, built around one tamable companion: a skeleton dwarf that takes on digging work. A tamed skeleton can be offered diamonds to build up loyalty, and it carries its own inventory where it stores valuable items such as diamonds, emeralds and ores. The companion gathers resources close to it and tosses items to its owner when they are in range. Tasks are assigned through a custom interface, and the companion can switch between follow and wait modes as needed.
The companion has several digging routines. It can light up areas by placing torches to brighten its surroundings, and it can cut straight paths through rock. It also works through specific areas it is sent to. When the owner is separated from it, the skeleton can teleport back to them, and it attacks threats with animations and sound effects. Sound design is part of the package, with ambient sounds, hurt effects and death audio drawn from the game's existing sound effects.
Eldertide is published for NeoForge 1.21.1 only, under All rights reserved, and the author plans more mystical companions with their own skills. Servers that run it need every player to install it too. Installing it requires the recommended NeoForge version for Minecraft 1.21.1 and the file placed in the mods folder.
