Echo Eye
Echo Eye is a Fabric and NeoForge transportation mod that adds Echo Shard themed items for teleporting players to a spawn point.
What it does
Crafting an Eye of Ender surrounded by eight echo-themed items produces an Echo Eye. Using the item sets the player's respawn point to a relatively safe block near the last place they died, within a horizontal radius. A Recovery Eye is made by combining an Eye of Ender with a Recovery Compass, so the same teleport can be reached through a second recipe.
The mod also includes an Echo Deepslate block themed on the Echo Shard. Echo Eyes arranged into a portal and lit with light act as a portal that moves players and other entities to the world spawn point. Behaviors that depend on the game's own mechanics, such as respawn handling, are the ones the mod changes.
Echo Eye runs on client and server, so the server and every player need it. Files are published for Fabric and NeoForge on 1.21 and 1.21.1, and it requires Fabric API on Fabric. The code is open source under the MIT License.
