Dynamic Sound Filters
by andre111
Dynamic Sound Filters changes how sounds are heard depending on where the player stands, muffling noises in caves, the Nether, under water or behind walls.
What it does
Sound filters are chosen from the player's current location. Reverb applies in caves and in the Nether, and submerged sounds are muffled when the player is under water or lava. Sounds coming from behind walls become quieter, and blocks such as wool and sponge block more of them than solid stone does.
The mod runs only on the client, so a server does not need it and players can join a server without installing it. Fabric API is required, and Mod Menu is optional; it gives access to the in-game configuration screen. Cloth Config API is bundled inside the mod. Files are released for Fabric only, covering game versions 1.19.3 – 1.21.1 across eight release versions, and the latest file is 1.4.0+1.21.1 for 1.21.1, dated 2024-08-12. The code is open source under the Apache License 2.0, and the source and issue tracker are public.
