What it does

Tamed dogs gain more personality in this Fabric mod. Dogs can dig for treasure, carry an item in their mouth, scratch an ear and take a nap when left sitting. Dog bowls come in 16 colors, and one of them is crafted with dye. A player places a bowl and right-clicks it with meat or other food; a dog standing close enough to the bowl eats from it. A bowl can be renamed with an anvil so that only dogs with the same name eat from it, and the bowl's name can be shown on its side.

A right-click throws the tennis ball, and the dog retrieves it and carries it back to the owner, even when it lands far away. Healing a dog has two methods. The author notes that the mod only works in singleplayer and that multiplayer behavior is unknown. The changes are described as not drastic, and dogs keep their usual behavior otherwise. Doggo Mod is licensed under All rights reserved and is not open source. The mod runs on the client only, so a server does not need it.

Key features

  1. Dog bowls in 16 colors

Sixteen differently colored bowls can be placed, one of them crafted with dye, and a dog eats from a bowl when it is close enough.

  2. Tennis ball fetching

A thrown tennis ball is retrieved by the dog, which carries it back to the owner after a throw from any distance.

  3. New dog actions

Dogs can dig, hold an item in the mouth, scratch an ear and take a nap when left sitting or lying down.

  4. Named bowls

An anvil can rename a bowl so that only dogs with the same name will eat from it, and the name can display on the bowl's side.

  5. Two ways to heal a dog

The mod changes how a dog is healed, offering two methods in place of the default behavior.
