Diamond Star Combat

by 1whohears

Diamond Star Combat adds military aircraft, radars, missiles and explosions to Minecraft, inspired by the Mcheli aircraft combat mod.

FabricForgeClient and serverMIT LicenseOpen source1.19.2 – 1.20.1

What it does

Players fly planes and vehicles with semi-realistic flight physics and can carry out maneuvers, drop laser guided bombs, and customize each vehicle's weapon loadout. A radar lets a pilot lock onto a target beyond the render distance, and heat seeking missiles can be defeated by releasing flares. The mod also includes planes, trucks, submarines and boats with new models, turrets and external radar masts, plus a vehicle workbench and an overlay system for vehicles.

The mod is open source under the MIT License and runs on client and server, so both the server and every player need it. Its required dependency is 1wholibs, and the author also lists Modern Fix as required. Builds cover 1.19.2 – 1.20.1 on Fabric and Forge, with 0.15.0 as the latest file for 1.20.1. Source code, an issue tracker and a wiki are public, and the wiki holds the controls and other details.

Key features

  1. Semi-realistic flight

Aircraft use a flight model that rewards careful control during maneuvers and attacks.

  2. Radar targeting

Radars allow missiles to engage targets that are outside the normal render distance.

  3. Heat seeking missiles and flares

Heat seeking missiles pursue nearby planes, and flares give a pilot a way to break the lock.

  4. Vehicle weapon loadouts

Each vehicle's weapons can be customized, including laser guided bombs and other missiles.
