Deeper and Slimier, a Forge addon for Splendid Slimes, brings Deeper and Darker inspired slimes into a Minecraft 1.20.1 world.

What it does

The addon adds Sculk Slime variants and related items modeled on the Deeper and Darker mod. Slimes take on sculk traits: a Sculk Slime cannot see, so it reacts to vibrations and becomes happier or sadder depending on how often it is fed. A Largo that eats the same diet twice in a row becomes picky and angry, and a happy slime nearby can grant a Night Vision effect while the surroundings grow dark.

Both required dependencies, Deeper and Darker and Splendid Slimes, must be installed alongside the addon. Deeper and Slimier is published for Forge only, for Minecraft 1.20.1. Both client and server need it, and the code is licensed under the GNU General Public License v3.0 or later, which makes it open source.

Key features

  1. Sculk Slime variants

    Sculk Slimes join the Splendid Slimes roster with traits drawn from the Deeper and Darker setting.

  2. Vibration-driven behavior

    Sculk slimes do not activate sculk sensors and react to vibrations instead of sight.

  3. Mood and diet

    Feeding frequency changes a slime's mood, and a Largo repeatedly given the same food turns picky and angry.

  4. Plort drops

    Plorts from a sculk slime may yield Echo Shards, Sculk Bones or Resonarium, and a rare roll can produce a crystal instead.
