Create: VS Engineering
by GRIFFlN
Create: VS Engineering adds customizable Ship Bearing blocks that rotate Valkyrien Skies ships and structures within set angle limits.
What it does
A Ship Bearing controls rotation of a ship-mounted structure. Its reference base angle sets a custom zero point, and separate left and right limits define how far the structure may turn. The angles are measured from the reference point, so the arc of motion is fixed and predictable. Turrets with safe rotation arcs and hinged mechanisms with hard limits are the main intended uses.
The addon is aimed at builds where Create's movement blocks need tighter control by default. It fills gaps in the Create and Valkyrien Skies toolset, reduces over-rotation and accidental collisions, and makes articulated setups easier to manage without scripting. The Create: Copycats+, Create: Interactive and Valkyrien Skies mods must be installed alongside Create, which the addon requires. The mod is server-side only, so players join without installing it, and it is released under the MIT License but is not open source. Builds are published for Forge only, 1.20.1 – 1.20.6, with 1.4.0.68 for 1.20.6 as the latest file.
Key features
Ship Bearing rotation
A customizable bearing rotates a structure on a ship with controlled motion instead of free spinning.
Reference base angle
A custom zero point sets where the rotation is measured from, so positions stay consistent between builds.
Independent rotation limits
Left and right limits can be set separately, preventing the structure from turning past the chosen arc.
Linked controller frequency
Shift and right-clicking a linked controller with a ship bearing assigns the same frequency used to pair them.
Compatibility
Latest build for each game version and loader.

How it compares
VS: Anchors is a Forge addon for 1.20.1 under All rights reserved and is not open source, while this addon covers 1.20.1 – 1.20.6. VS Shields is a Forge mod for 1.20.1, released under a custom license and not open source, and it has no rotation limits like this addon. Ship In A Bottle is open source under the CC0 1.0 Universal license and runs on Fabric and Forge for 1.20.1, so it covers a different part of the ship toolset.

What the author says
a lightweight addon focused on adding missing utility pieces for building moving structures with more freedom and precision. The goal is simple: make motion setups feel less restrictive and more customizable, without turning your setup into a scripting project.
