Create: Backtank Trims & Dyes
by Moshi__
With this add-on installed, Create's diving helmets, diving boots and backtanks accept armor trims and dyes, which the base mod never implemented.
What it does
Create's diving helmets, diving boots, backtanks and the netherite jetpack can all take armor trims through the smithing table, and six of Create's diving items are valid smithing-table inputs. Dyeing works at the crafting grid: a helmet dropped into the grid with a dye is colored, several dyes can be blended into hues like leather armor, and the color is removed with a cauldron.
Trims on the jetpack are drawn with the same custom render path Create uses, so the netherite backtank trim can appear invisible, while the add-on's own renderer shows trims on both jetpack variants. Trims are drawn with Minecraft's trim renderer, which makes some trims look odd on Create's gear.
The mod needs Create and runs with the client required and the server optional, so a player who wants trims must install it. The published files cover Minecraft 1.20.1 on Forge and 1.21.1 on NeoForge, and the NeoForge build needs Create 6.0.0 or newer. The code is open source under the Apache License 2.0, and Create itself is a separate project under its own license.
Key features
Trims on Create's diving gear
Diving helmets, diving boots and backtanks can take armor trims at the smithing table.
Dyeable helmets
Dye in the crafting grid colors a helmet, several dyes blend into new hues, and a cauldron removes the color.
Amethyst visor
A dyed helmet crafted with an amethyst shard gets a visor that slowly breathes and pulses.
Jetpack trim support
The netherite jetpack and the other jetpack variant render trims through the add-on's own renderer, where Create's path leaves the backtank trim invisible.

What the author says
Smithing-table/render armor trims and dyeable visors for Create's diving gear. Create's diving helmets, diving boots and backtanks are armor, but the Create devs never implemented trimming properly and disabled it as a bandaid fix. This mod properly integrates them and adds a little visual flair on top.
