Craftable Creatures

Craftable Creatures lets players build spawn eggs from a soul, a blueprint and a bluestone-based recipe, instead of finding them in the world.
What it does
Players collect a soul from a mob that dies near them, or by killing the mob and picking up its dropped items. A soul extractor and a combiner then turn the soul and a crafted blueprint into a spawn egg for that mob. Bluestone, bluestone blocks and powered bluestone blocks are the base materials, and the recipes for the extractor and the combiner are single entries in the mod.
Craftable Creatures is a Forge and ModLoader mod for 1.1 – 1.9.4, with five release versions, and it needs ModLoaderMP on the ModLoader side. A server running it needs every connecting player to have it too. The mod is released under the MIT License and is open source; its source code and issue tracker are public.

Soul-based spawn eggs
Spawn eggs are crafted from a soul and a blueprint rather than dropped by mobs, so the set of creatures available depends on what the player has collected.
Soul extractor
A crafted extractor pulls a soul from a dead mob, with the soul placed in the machine's slot after a short wait.
Combiner for spawn eggs
A combiner takes a mob's soul and a spawn egg template and produces the matching egg, using a machine recipe.
Bluestone materials
Bluestone is mined, then crafted into bluestone blocks and powered bluestone blocks used in the machine recipes.
