Common Sense: Foods

by TheRTGGaming

Common Sense: Foods adds a large set of food items that are cooked, mixed or baked from several ingredients, aiming for recipes that make sense in the real world.

ForgeNeoForgeClient and serverAll rights reserved1.20.1 – 1.21.1

What it does

Many of the added foods are built from ordinary ingredients through crafting. A fried egg is made by cooking a raw egg, chocolate bars start from cocoa beans, and ice cream is assembled in a bowl. Some recipes, such as pizza, combine several ingredients, and fruit can be used as a topping in the same way.

The mod introduces a rolling pin and other specific tools so that the more elaborate recipes can be prepared. Its goal is to give players a realistic way to craft food and to help with hunger in survival play, while extending the vanilla food system with a larger selection of items.

Files are published for Forge and NeoForge only, covering the 1.20.1 and 1.21.1 game versions. A server running it needs every connecting player to have it too. It is released under All rights reserved and is not open source.

Key features

  1. Crafted foods from real ingredients

Foods are built from named ingredients such as milk, eggs and cocoa beans, keeping the recipes close to real cooking.

  2. Fried eggs and chocolate bars

A fried egg comes from cooking a raw egg, and chocolate bars are crafted from cocoa beans and other ingredients.

  3. Bowl-based ice cream

Ice cream is made through a bowl-based recipe, adding a dessert that follows the same ingredient logic.

  4. Rolling pin for elaborate recipes

A rolling pin is added as a tool for preparing dough-based recipes such as pizza.
