Combat Effects
by ElocinDev
With Combat Effects installed on a server, status effects can be applied to entities when a fight starts, including boss fights, PvP and mobs that poison or bleed on hit.
What it does
The mod applies status effects to entities that take part in combat. Triggers cover a specific effect during boss encounters, poison or bleeding on hit for chosen entities, and a glow effect when players engage each other in PvP. Any other combat situation that calls for an effect can be configured in the same way.
Effect rules can be adjusted in great detail and support regular expressions, so one rule can match many entities or game conditions at once. The mod is a modpack utility and is aimed at server owners who want to shape combat through configuration instead of code.
Necronomicon API is required for the mod to run. Combat Effects is server-side only, so players join without installing it. Files are published for Fabric, NeoForge and Quilt for 1.21.1, and the 1.20.1 build is also listed. The mod is not open source and is released under a custom license.
Key features
Boss effects
Applies a chosen status effect to a boss while it is engaged, so encounters play differently from regular fights.
Poison and bleeding on hit
Causes certain entities to inflict poison or bleeding when they strike, configured per entity type.
PvP glow
Gives a glow effect to players who engage each other in PvP, making opponents easier to spot.
Regex matching
Rule targets can be written as regular expressions, so one entry can cover a group of entities or conditions.
