Presence Footsteps [BTW Port] brings footstep sounds from the Presence Footsteps mod to Better Than Wolves: CE on Legacy Fabric 1.6.4.
What it does
The port takes Hurricaaane's Presence Footsteps, originally a Risugami's Modloader mod, and integrates it with Better Than Wolves: CE. Its sound mapping reads a resource pack from the mods folder, so each block and material can play its own step sound, and the new Better Than Wolves blocks receive distinct sounds of their own.
Installation needs BTWPF Resources and Better Than Wolves: CE. Run the game once so the presencefootsteps directory is generated in the mods folder, then place a compatible resource pack there and restart. The mod runs on the client only, and is published for Legacy Fabric on 1.6.4 as file 1.0.1 for 1.6.4, dated 2025-12-20. It is released under the WTFPL, and the project is not open source, though its source code and issue tracker are public.

Footstep sound mapping
Sounds are registered per material and context, so a stone path and a wooden floor can each play a different footstep.
Resource pack driven
Sound definitions come from a resource pack, and the default pack provides only the standard Presence Footsteps folley effects.
Hot reload and volume mixer
Pressing CTRL+P reloads the BTWPF resources during play, and an in-game volume mixer adjusts the footstep levels.
Verbose logging
An optional verbose log shows how each block and primitive definition was parsed, which helps when a case does not match.
