Borderless Window
by nimueller
Borderless Window swaps Minecraft's standard fullscreen for a borderless version, aimed at Forge and NeoForge players who run more than one monitor.
What it does
When the game switches to fullscreen, through F11 or the fullscreen option in the video settings, the window is drawn without borders instead of taking over the display in a separate video mode. The default fullscreen minimizes the game as soon as it loses focus, while this version keeps the window in place, so another program on a second monitor can be used without leaving Minecraft and other windows can be stacked on top of it.
The mod works alongside OptiFine. Borderless fullscreen is a client change, so only the player's game needs the jar and a server does not need it. The mod is released under the MIT License and is open source, with its source code and issue tracker publicly available. Files cover 1.14.4 – 1.21.11 across 34 game versions, with the latest Forge and NeoForge builds dated 2026-02-10.
Key features
Borderless fullscreen
Fullscreen mode is drawn as a borderless window that fills the display without switching the monitor's video mode.
No minimizing on focus loss
The window stays open when another program takes focus, which suits setups with several monitors.
Stackable windows
Separate applications can be layered over the game window while it is in fullscreen.
Automatic switching
No setting is needed: the window becomes borderless whenever fullscreen is turned on from F11 or the video settings.
