BlockOverride
by samuelask
BlockOverride lets server owners change the hardness, blast resistance and other properties of existing blocks, with no change to the blocks' textures or recipes.
What it does
Hardness and explosion resistance are set per block through the mod's configuration, and a value can be applied to a block, a dimension or a group of blocks when the game loads. Changes take effect at initialization, so a block can be made quick to break, or made nearly unbreakable, as in the author's example of turning bedrock into a weak block. The mod runs on the server only, so players join without installing it. It is published for Forge 1.12.2, with the latest file 1.0.3 released on 2025-05-10, and is open source under the MIT License.
Key features
Block hardness override
Sets the hardness value of chosen blocks, changing how long they take to break.
Explosion resistance override
Sets the blast resistance of chosen blocks, so explosions affect them differently.
Dimension-wide values
Applies hardness and resistance to every block in a dimension, for example making a dimension's bedrock unbreakable.
Compatibility
Latest build for each game version and loader.
Only full game releases are shown. This mod publishes no snapshot builds.
