by ItsElix99

Better World Options is a world generation mod for Minecraft b1.7.3 that lets players pick legacy terrain styles, fixed-size worlds and world height settings.

What it does

Better World Options mixes classic world generation with modern features. It offers selectable world types and Indev-era themes such as Hell, Paradise and Woods, and it can generate a finite world with fixed boundaries instead of endless terrain. Old features are restored where the older versions had them, so a world can be generated the way past builds produced it. Single biome worlds and MCPE LCE Island types are included as well.

The mod also covers settings a player would otherwise have to edit by hand. World height is configurable from 128 up to 512, and the shape of the Farlands can be set. Hardcore Mode and a Winter Mode are available as options. The goal is to keep the nostalgic atmosphere of the older game while adding a few enhancements from newer versions.

Better World Options needs Glass Config API and StationAPI, and Mod Menu Babric is optional. It runs on Fabric and Babric, and it is published only for b1.7.3. Its files are under the MIT License, and the source code is open source, with an issue tracker for reports.

Selectable world types recreate the terrain styles of older versions, including Indev themes and single biome worlds.

  2. Finite worlds

  3. Configurable world height

World height can be set anywhere from 128 up to 512 blocks.

  4. Hardcore and Winter options

Hardcore Mode and a Winter Mode can be switched on alongside the world types.
