Better Than Weather transforms the weather of the world with volumetric clouds, new rain and wind.

What it does

Clouds in this mod are volumetric, and their shapes and weather patterns change with each season. Rain is drawn to look like Minecraft's own rain while drifting with the wind, and the wind's speed and direction shift over time. Dynamic fog changes the view as conditions change.

Players can choose how much of the effect to show through new options, and the author notes that rain drifting and the high quality settings are tied together. Hell and the Endless Winter each receive their own custom weather. A server running it needs every connecting player to have it too. It is published for b1.7.3 only, and the MIT License covers it, but the code is not open source.
