Better F3 HUD

by shafvantalat

Better F3 HUD keeps a chosen set of the vanilla F3 debug lines visible on screen during play, without the full debug overlay covering the view.

FabricClient-side onlyMIT LicenseOpen source1.21.11

What it does

Instead of opening the full F3 screen, a player picks which pieces of technical information stay visible: frames per second, X Y Z coordinates, the biome at the current position, details about the entity being looked at, and extra client information. Each module can be turned on or off, and the HUD can be moved to another corner or given custom colors.

Streamer Mode hides selected lines or replaces them with custom text, which suits players who record or stream and do not want certain numbers shown publicly. Settings are changed in an in-game configuration screen, so editing configuration files by hand is not needed. The mod is a lightweight Fabric client mod for 1.21.11, released under the MIT License, and it is open source.

Only the client needs it. Players install it on their own side, and a server does not have to run it. Files are published for Fabric alone, with 1.0.2 as the latest file for 1.21.11.

Key features

  1. Visible FPS and coordinates

Frames per second and X Y Z position stay on screen while playing, so the numbers are readable at a glance.

  2. Biome and entity lines

The current biome is shown, and a separate module reports information about the entity the player is looking at.

  3. Custom HUD placement

The overlay can be moved to a chosen spot on the screen, so it does not sit over the parts of the view that matter.

  4. Streamer Mode

Selected information can be hidden or replaced with custom text while recording or streaming.

Use cases

Playing with a clean view

A player keeps only the debug lines they need, so most of the screen stays free of text while building or exploring.

Streaming or recording

Streamer Mode removes coordinates or other details from the picture so they are not shown to viewers.

Who it’s for: Players who want a few technical readouts on screen without the full F3 overlay, and streamers who need to hide some of those readouts.
