Bedrock Breaking
by nokko
Bedrock Breaking makes the unbreakable bottom layer of the world mineable through a Bedrock Pickaxe item that the mod adds.
What it does
Bedrock is normally indestructible in Minecraft. This Fabric mod changes that by altering the block so that a player can break it, and it adds a reskinned vanilla pickaxe that does the work. The item has no crafting recipe and is provided in the creative tab under the ID bedrockpickaxe:bedrock_pickaxe. Breaking speed, the difficulty of breaking bedrock and the items that count as the tool are all set in the configuration, which holds a large number of options.
The mod is server-side only, so only the server needs it and players join without installing anything. An optional client-side component can disable the Bedrock Pickaxe item. The Efficiency and Fortune enchantments work on bedrock, while other tools break it at a reduced 30% speed. The author warns that the change can cause bugs, and the code relies on a hook placed in the block-breaking routine. Requires Fabric Language Kotlin, and Fabric API, which is shipped with the mod's copy.
