Alpha Gaia
by Klinbee
Alpha Gaia is a world-generation data pack that brings Alpha-style world presets into Minecraft.
What it does
Alpha Gaia recreates the terrain, mob spawning and world features of early Alpha builds. A world made with its preset gets the sparse, pre-Beta look of those versions. Only the mobs that Alpha spawned appear naturally: Drowned, which replace Zombies in that list, can appear, and Baby Zombies spawn because they share the Zombie identifier, while Zombie Villagers do not, since they use a separate identifier. Monster Rooms are the only dungeon structure that generates, and only the foliage Alpha had is placed, so seeds from that era produce the same results.
The mod is distributed as a data pack, language pack and mod version package, which makes installation simpler. The author notes that the project is meant to stay a data pack alongside other Alpha-style projects, and it is aimed at players who want an Alpha-like world without installing a large mod collection. Alpha Gaia is server required and client optional, so a server that runs it is enough for the terrain and spawning to apply to players who join.
The source code is public and the project is open source under the MIT License. Files are published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, with builds covering 1.20 – 1.21.10, and the latest file is 1.1.0 for 1.21.10, dated 2025-10-09.

What the author says
This means Seeds from Alpha will not work. Use mods like Moderner Beta if you want to do something like that. The Mod version is simply a package for the data pack and language pack for ease of installing.
