Companion Locator shows where teammates are in multiplayer, drawing their heads and direction markers on the vanilla experience bar, for Fabric and Forge.
What it does
The mod places teammate markers along the experience bar, using player heads that slide left or right with the direction of each companion and shrink as they move farther away. Elevation arrows and edge-of-view cues point toward friends who are above, below or out of sight, and cross-dimension badges show when a companion is in another dimension. Distant markers eventually become compact colored pixel markers, so the HUD keeps the look and feel of the vanilla interface.
Players in a group can keep a party together through smart group layout, and each display mode and outline can be adjusted. Distance scaling and distinct colors help tell teammates apart. Server-authoritative configuration lets a server owner decide which options apply, and privacy controls limit what is shown. Companion Locator is published for Fabric and Forge across 10 release versions, 1.19.2 – 1.21.5, and is released under the MIT License; it is not open source. Both loaders need the matching build, and a build for one exact game version must be chosen for each installation.
