Wither Turns Skeletons changes how the Wither effect affects skeletons, so a skeleton hit by it can be turned into a Wither Skeleton after a short delay.

What it does

A skeleton affected by the Wither potion effect becomes a Wither Skeleton after about 100 ticks, instead of taking damage from the effect. The conversion works the way skeletons turn into strays in powder snow and drowned underwater. The mod runs on Fabric, NeoForge and Quilt, and both the server and every player need it, since the change happens on the server side. Its MIT license is open source, and the 22 release versions cover 1.17.1 – 26.2.

Key features

  1. Wither conversion

    A skeleton that is under the Wither effect becomes a Wither Skeleton once the timer runs out, rather than taking damage from it.

  2. Delayed change

    The conversion takes about 100 ticks, so the skeleton keeps its normal state until the delay ends.

  3. Custom sound

    A custom sound event plays during the change, and it comes with proper subtitles.
