WallJumpVS

by Camawama

WallJumpVS lets players jump off walls and cling to them, and it keeps those moves working on Valkyrien Skies ships as they move and rotate.

ForgeClient and serverGNU General Public License v3.0 or laterOpen source1.20.1

What it does

Holding jump next to a wall launches the player upward, and a dedicated wall cling key slows a fall against the wall so it descends gently. A double jump adds an extra boost in mid-air. The mod is a fork of WallJumpTXF with Valkyrien Skies support, and it keeps the original wall jump, wall cling and double jump features.

Collision logic was updated to account for ship grids, so parkour movement still functions while a player stands on a ship. The fork fixes the inability to wall jump off blocks on ships that the original TXF build had. Valkyrien Skies is required for the physics functionality, and Physics Integration is the companion that the author notes mention alongside it.

The mod is released under the GNU General Public License v3.0 or later and is open source, with the source code publicly available. Files are published for Forge only, for Minecraft 1.20.1. A server running it needs every connecting player to have it too.

Key features

  1. Wall jump

Pressing jump while clinging to a wall launches the player upward away from it.

  2. Wall cling

Holding the wall cling key against a wall slides the player down slowly instead of letting them drop.

  3. Double jump

Pressing jump in mid-air gives an extra boost, allowing a second jump before landing.

  4. Ship parkour

Wall moves keep working on Valkyrien Skies ships, including while the ship is moving or rotating.

Bottle Ship is a Forge mod for 1.20.1 that runs on client and server and is open source under the MIT License, so it is a ship-focused alternative rather than a movement one. Carry On + Valkyrien Skies Compat is server-side only, open source under the MIT License, and covers Fabric and Forge for 1.20.1, so players join without installing it. Presence Footsteps + Valkyrien Skies Compat is client-side only, open source under the MIT License, and also covers Fabric and Forge for 1.20.1.

What the author says

The standard Wall-Jump mod relies on static world collision, meaning it does not detect walls on moving physics entities. This fork specifically adds compatibility for Valkyrien Skies (currently only supports version 2.3). WallJumpVS is a movement enhancement mod for Minecraft 1.20.1, optimized for modpacks that use…
