Tide Autofish

by Duox29

Tide Autofish automates the Tide 2 fishing minigame, starting it when a rod is cast and playing it until the catch lands.

ForgeNeoForgeClient-side onlyMIT License1.20.1 – 1.21.11

What it does

Once the mod is installed, casting a fishing rod starts the Tide 2 minigame and the mod plays it without manual input. A toggle bound to the V key switches automatic fishing on or off, so a player can take control again at any point. Tide Autofish requires Tide 2 to be present, since the automation hooks into that minigame and nothing else.

The mod is built as a client-side addon for Forge and NeoForge, and only the client needs it, so servers run without it. Files cover 18 release versions 1.20.1 – 1.21.11, with 1.0.0 as the latest Forge file for 1.20.6 and the latest NeoForge file for 1.21.11. The code is released under the MIT License, and the project is not open source.

Key features

  1. Automatic minigame play

The fishing minigame is handled by the mod with set timing, so the player does not have to press keys during each catch.

  2. Cast-triggered start

Casting a rod begins the Tide 2 minigame automatically, without any extra step from the player.

  3. V key toggle

Pressing V switches Auto Fish on or off, which lets the player return to manual fishing whenever needed.

  4. Catch handling

After the minigame ends, the mod takes care of the catch so the next cast can follow right away.

Use cases

Long fishing sessions

Players who fish for extended periods in a single-player world can leave the rod running without repeating each minigame by hand.

Who it’s for: Players who use Tide 2 on a Forge or NeoForge client and want the fishing minigame played for them. Server owners do not need to install anything for it.

Questions

Does Tide Autofish need another mod to work?

Yes. Tide 2 is required, because Tide Autofish automates that minigame and cannot run on its own.

Does a server need Tide Autofish installed?

No. Servers do not need it; each player installs it for their own game.

Which loaders and versions does Tide Autofish support?

The mod is published for Forge and NeoForge across 1.20.1 – 1.21.11. Forge has 1.0.0 for 1.20.6 and NeoForge has 1.0.0 for 1.21.11.
