Terracotta Knights adds clay soldier mobs to Quilt on Minecraft 1.20.1, which players can customize, arm and send to fight.
What it does
Knights are crafted and then dyed, and the only crafting recipe available for dyeing them is the one the mod provides. Different colored knights fight one another, and armor and weapons can be customized on each knight. Equipped knights drop their armor and weapons when they die, and a remote is used to control them.
Terracotta Knights takes its inspiration from the earlier Clay Soldiers mod by SanAndreaP, and the project reworks that concept from the ground up. Armor pieces stack on a knight, and the mod includes full recipes for its items. Some named features, such as easter eggs triggered by naming a knight, are part of the mod as well. Horses, crossbows, shields and power-ups are listed as coming later, and the mod is still in development, with only the creative-mode version currently offered.
Terracotta Knights is open source under the Mozilla Public License 2.0 and runs on Quilt for 1.20.1 only. Both the client and the server need it, and the latest Quilt file, 1.1.10+1.20.1, is dated 2023-08-18. The source code is public.
