SmartBackPacks

by SmartStreamLabs

SmartBackPacks adds portable storage backpacks that players can wear, place or open remotely, and upgrade with modules for storage, pickup and automation.

FabricForgeNeoForgeClient and serverAll rights reserved1.20.1 – 26.2

What it does

Each backpack has its own internal inventory. A worn backpack is opened with the right mouse button, and a placed one keeps its contents in the world. Several tiers exist, from a Lapis Lazuli Backpack with 27 slots and a Netherite Backpack with 162 slots up to the Netherite Vault Backpack with 2500 slots, so storage grows as players progress through the mod.

Upgrades are the main way to change what a backpack does. Modules cover magnet and advanced magnet pickup, filters, fluid and energy transfer, remote access, chunk loading and large stack-size expansion. Optional Curios support lets a backpack sit in a Curios slot, and the mod works with automation setups that move items, fluids and containers.

SmartBackPacks runs on client and server, so the server and every player need it. It is published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge across six game versions, 1.20.1 – 26.2, and the code is not open source; the mod is released under All rights reserved.

Key features

  1. Wearable and placeable backpacks

A backpack can be worn on the back or set down in the world, and its contents stay with it either way.

  2. Tiered storage

Material-based tiers scale from 27 slots up to 2500, with Diamond and Netherite backpacks in between.

  3. Upgrade modules

Storage, pickup, magnet and filter modules change how items are collected and sorted inside a backpack.

  4. Fluid and energy support

Backpacks can transfer fluids and store FE energy, which suits machine-heavy bases.

Use cases

Early-game storage

A Lapis Lazuli Backpack gives a player more room before any Netherite is available.

Automated bases

Remote access and transfer upgrades let a backpack feed machines and containers without manual trips.

Who it’s for: Survival players who need extra inventory space, and server owners who want portable storage with upgrades for automated bases.
