Simply Fixes is a Fabric patch for the Simply Swords mod that stops players from skipping a weapon's cooldown by swapping slots or cutting an ability short.
What it does
In Simply Swords, some weapon abilities could be bypassed when a player swapped hotbar slots or interrupted the ability mid-use. This mod adds server-side fixes so that cooldowns are applied and movement states are cleaned up however the ability ends. It targets the Thunderbrand, Arcanethyst and Icewhisper weapons, and it works by injecting logic into the weapon item classes with Mixins.
The mod requires Fabric Loader and is published for 1.20.1 only, with a single file, 1.0.0, dated 2026-04-22. Every player and the server need a copy of the mod. The code is under the MIT License and is not open source.
Key features
Thunderbrand dash fix
Closes the dash cooldown bypass and resets velocity when the dash finishes or is interrupted.
Arcanethyst timing fix
Stops the cooldown bypass and ends the ability at the correct time.
Icewhisper cooldown
The ice ability still starts its cooldown when the weapon is swapped out of the hand.
Abandoned ability cleanup
When a started ability is detected as abandoned, the cooldown is applied manually and the leftover state is reset.

Latest build for each game version and loader.
