Panorama Creator

by Cattail

Panorama Creator lets players capture a 360-degree panorama of their current surroundings and use it as the main menu background.

FabricClient-side onlyAll rights reserved1.21.10 – 1.21.11

What it does

A player finds a scenic spot in a Minecraft world and presses the hotkey. The mod hides the interface, adjusts the field of view and takes six precise screenshots, then compiles them into a resource pack. The finished panorama can be named in the in-game interface, and the resource pack is enabled from the Options menu under Resource Packs.

Because it is a client-side only mod, it works on single-player worlds, multiplayer servers and Realms without any change on the server. The mod needs Fabric API to run and is published for Fabric alone, with files for 1.21.10 and 1.21.11 and 1.0.0 for 1.21.11 as the latest release, dated 2026-05-25. It is released under All rights reserved and is not open source.

Key features

  1. One-click capture

A hotkey captures a full 360-degree view of the current surroundings in a single press.

  2. Custom names

Each panorama receives a custom name through the in-game interface, which helps organize several backgrounds.

  3. Automatic resource pack

Captured screenshots are compiled into a ready-to-use resource pack without manual file work.

  4. Creation from the menu

A player enters a name for a new panorama and clicks Create, then enables the resulting pack from the Options menu.

Use cases

Personal main menu

A player who builds a favorite landscape can turn a view from that world into the title screen background.

Multiplayer and Realms

Since the mod runs only on the client, players can capture panoramas on servers and Realms without asking the server owner to install anything.

Who it’s for: Players who want their own main menu backgrounds from places in their worlds, and who run the game with Fabric and Fabric API.

How it compares

Full comparison

Better Panorama is a Fabric and NeoForge mod for 1.21.1 with a custom license and is not open source, so it covers a different loader and version. Panorama Studio is a Fabric mod for 1.21.11 released under the MIT License and is open source, so it is the closer match on version but differs in license. Both alternatives are client-side only, the same environment as Panorama Creator.

Questions

Does Panorama Creator need Fabric API?

Yes. The mod is standalone but requires Fabric API to work, so both must be installed together on Fabric.

Does Panorama Creator have to be installed on the server?

No. Players add it to their own game, and a server needs no copy.

Which game versions are supported?

Files exist for 1.21.10 and 1.21.11, with 1.0.0 for 1.21.11 as the latest release.
