Inventory close with mouse key fix

by KosmX

Inventory close with mouse key fix lets players close an open inventory by pressing a mouse button, a close action that the game does not offer by default.

What it does

The mod makes it possible to close an inventory screen with a mouse button, which vanilla handling does not allow. It is a client mod: only the client needs it, and servers run without it. Builds are published for Fabric and Forge across 8 release versions, 1.12.2 – 1.19, and the code is open source under The Unlicense.

Key features

  1. Mouse button close

Pressing a mouse button while an inventory is open closes the screen, where it would otherwise stay open.

  2. No Fabric API needed

On Fabric the mod runs without Fabric API, so it adds no extra library to the instance.

  3. Single-purpose change

The mod changes only inventory closing and leaves other input handling as it was.

Questions

Does Inventory Close With Mouse Fix need Fabric API?

No. The mod does not require Fabric API on Fabric, and the Forge build has no such dependency either.

Does the server need the mod?

No. Players add it to their own game, and a server needs no copy.

What the author says

It is impossible to close your inventory with a mouse button. This is until now. Don't ask for a newer Fabric version, the latest is probably compatible with ANY Fabric modded version. It doesn't require Fabric API The Discord link is to my main project: Emotecraft (but you can find me there)
