Don't Break Your Tools! stops players from using a tool once its durability runs low, so a pickaxe or sword is not lost by accident.

What it does

Items with low durability cannot be used to break blocks or to attack, which protects them from being worn out by surprise. The check takes the remaining durability into account and works with items that have multiple durability. It runs on the client alone, so only the player's game needs it, and it is published for Fabric under the MIT License, which is open source, for 1.21 – 26.1.

Key features

  1. Blocked low-durability use

    An item with little durability left is prevented from breaking blocks or attacking.

  2. Durability-aware check

    The threshold is based on the remaining durability of each item, not on a fixed count.

  3. Multiple durability support

    Items that track more than one durability value are also covered by the check.
