Cobblemon: PokeMarks

by ZeroDelusions

Cobblemon: PokeMarks is a Fabric addon for Cobblemon that gives Pokémon marks, each applied when in-game conditions are met, with personalized titles and particle effects.

FabricClient and serverCreative Commons Attribution Non Commercial Share Alike 4.01.21.1

What it does

Marks are cosmetic labels that a Pokémon can carry, and each one is awarded from in-game circumstances such as the weather, the time of day, the biome, or a Pokémon's IV sum. The mod ports marks from the Scarlet and Violet games, along with the Sword and Shield set, and it adds its own rules where the originals have no direct Minecraft or Cobblemon counterpart.

Each mark has a title, a title color, a probability from 0 to 100 percent, customizable particle effects and a liking value. Conditions are written as JSON statements, so a server owner can add, remove or change marks without touching code. The mod generates its JSON config file in the minecraft/config directory, and new versions include config changes that replace the last version's file.

The mod is client and server: both the server and every player need it, and it requires Cobblemon and YetAnotherConfigLib (YACL). It is published for Fabric only, for 1.21.1, under a Creative Commons Attribution Non Commercial Share Alike 4.0 license, and it is not open source.

Key features

  1. Marks from game conditions

Marks are applied when conditions such as weather, time, biome or Pokémon stats are met, using statements like isRaining and isDayTime.

  2. Customizable titles and effects

Each mark can have its own title, title color and particle effect, so the same Pokémon can look different with different marks.

  3. Probability per mark

A chance from 0 to 100 percent decides whether a mark is granted when its conditions are met.

  4. Scriptable condition logic

Conditions accept negation, biome and position checks, and grouped statements, so marks can be limited to specific areas.

Questions

Does PokeMarks need Cobblemon to run?

Yes. Cobblemon and YetAnotherConfigLib (YACL) are both required dependencies, and the mod is published for Fabric on 1.21.1 only.

Does a server need PokeMarks installed?

Yes. Servers that run it need every player to install it too.

Where are the mark rules stored?

Rules are written in JSON and a config file is created in the minecraft/config folder the first time the mod starts, where marks can be edited.
