Chat Emoji

by Zerw

Chat Emoji adds 28 pixel-style emojis that players can pick from a menu beside the chat box and send during play.

FabricForgeNeoForgeClient and serverAll rights reserved1.20.1 – 26.3

What it does

The mod places an emoji menu next to the chat input. Each of its 28 pixel-style emojis is shown as an image in the chat log, so a message can carry a reaction without any typed codes. Clicking an emoji with the left button sends it and closes the menu, while a right click adds the same emoji again and keeps the menu open for a sequence of reactions.

The mod is built for casual social play in survival worlds and on servers, where friends chat while working together or hanging out. It works alongside the Friends mod, which is named as a companion in the author notes, so players who already use that mod get emoji support in the same chat. Because the environment is client and server, the server and every player need the mod for emojis to appear for everyone in a multiplayer game.

Files are published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge across 16 release versions, 1.20.1 – 26.3. The latest file for each loader is version 1.0.0 for 26.3, released on 2026-09-24. The first release was on 2026-08-07. The license is All rights reserved, so the mod is not open source.

Key features

  1. Emoji menu beside chat

A menu opens next to the chat input, so emojis can be chosen without leaving the typing area.

  2. 28 pixel-style emojis

The mod ships 28 small pixel-art images that appear inline in the chat log when sent.

  3. Left-click send

A left click sends the chosen emoji and closes the menu straight away.

  4. Right-click repeat

A right click adds the same emoji again and leaves the menu open, so several reactions can be sent in a row.
