Cera
Cera brings MCPatcher and OptiFine resource pack extensions to Minecraft 1.8.9 on the Ornithe loader, so resource packs can use connected textures, custom skyboxes and animated textures.
What it does
Cera brings the MCPatcher and OptiFine resource pack extensions to Minecraft 1.8.9 by reimplementing them. Resource packs written for those extensions can then change connected textures, natural textures, better grass, custom item textures, custom GUIs, custom skyboxes and entity or GUI animated textures. Dynamic lights and shader support are also included in the mod.
The mod is a client-side only addition. Only the player's client needs it, and servers run without it. Its required dependency is Argentum, which must be installed next to Cera. According to the author, Cera has minimal performance overhead compared with Argentum alone.
Files are published for Ornithe on Minecraft 1.8.9 only. The latest Ornithe file is 1.0.1 for 1.8.9, released on 2026-10-09, and the mod was first published on 2026-08-23. The code is not open source, and it is released under All rights reserved. Public links exist for the source code and the issue tracker.
