BuildCraft Robotics

by AlexIIL

BuildCraft Robotics adds small flying robots to BuildCraft, directed by gates, that plant trees, dig blocks, transport items and harvest crops.

ForgeClient and serverCustom license1.7.10 – 1.12.2

What it does

The robotics module is a submodule of BuildCraft that provides robots: small flying entities that carry out in-world tasks. Robots are directed through gates and need supporting blocks and items such as a Docking Station, a Zone Planner and a Map Location to work. Those pieces supply the functionality that lets a robot pick a job area and return to base.

BuildCraft Core is required and must be installed alongside the mod. The mod is published for Forge only, in four release versions covering 1.7.10 – 1.12.2, with 8.0.0 for 1.12.2 as the latest file, released on 2025-04-02. Every player and the server need a copy of the mod. The code is under a custom license, and the mod is not open source.

The BuildCraft project as a whole ships as a complete single-JAR build, and the submodule is also available as a separate multi-JAR file in the same versions. Licensing information is given in the full project description.

Key features

  1. Flying robots

Small flying robots perform in-world jobs such as planting trees, digging blocks and transporting items.

  2. Gate control

Gates direct robots to their tasks, so a single control point can manage several workers.

  3. Docking Station

A Docking Station block gives robots a place to return to and recharge between jobs.

  4. Zone Planner and Map Location

Zone Planner and Map Location items define the areas robots work in and the targets they move to.
