Brew'n Chew
by Eruannie_9
Brew'n Chew lets players infuse food with potion effects, using a set of flowers and mushrooms to shape how the result looks and what it does.
What it does
Players find four potion items and pick one food item to begin testing combinations. Each potion is paired with a flower, and an infusion becomes available once the right pairing is found. A fourth tab in the book lists the infusion combinations that have been discovered, while locked flowers appear as cryptic silhouettes until they are found.
Infused food can hold effects such as a jump boost raised by one level, a strength boost, extra damage against targets below a third of their health, fire resistance for about a minute, and absorption that begins at a lower level and then adds extra hearts over time. Some flowers add a small chance for haste to trigger speed, and others add luck or make a stronger harm effect. Players can preview the look with an example steak renderer.
The mod runs on the client and on the server, so both sides need it. Files are published for Forge only, with builds covering 1.16.5 – 1.20.1 and the latest file, 2.1, targeting 1.18.2. The code is under the MIT License, and the project is not open source.
Key features
Infused food
Any food can be combined with a potion and a flower, giving it the effect of the potion in a new form.
Potion stacking rules
Combining one potion type at several strengths keeps the highest level, and the duration is halved and rebalanced.
Infusion discovery
Combining the right potion with a flower reveals the infusion, along with a semi-realistic drawing and a short description of its bonus effect.
Flower visual styles
Different vanilla flowers and mushrooms give each infused food a distinct visual modification, and the infused flower changes the food tooltip.
Compatibility
Latest build for each game version and loader.
Only full game releases are shown. This mod publishes no snapshot builds.
Use cases
Survival food effects
Players can give meals short combat or utility effects, such as fire resistance or extra absorption hearts, when preparing for a trip or a fight.
Server progression
Because infusions are discovered one at a time through the book, a server can spread discovery of the flower combinations over a long playthrough.
Who it’s for: Players who enjoy crafting and experimenting with potion effects in survival worlds, and server owners who want a progression layer built around food and flowers.

What the author says
Have you ever wanted to mix any food item with any potion effect!? Even the witch villagers told me this was a bad idea. But who listens to them anyway?
