BossBar Toggle

by paulooww

BossBar Toggle lets a player hide or show the boss bar on screen with a command, and the bar comes back instantly when re-enabled.

FabricClient-side onlyAll rights reserved1.19.3 – 1.21.11

What it does

Boss bars such as those from the Ender Dragon or a Wither stay in the game's data while hidden, so turning the display back on restores the bar at once without waiting for the boss to reappear. The toggle is handled through commands in the same style as the vanilla bossbar command, and the mod uses a simple config file. It is a small client-side mod that works with vanilla, modded and other setups alike.

Installation needs Fabric Loader and Fabric API. The mod is client-side only, so only the player's game needs it and a server does not. Builds exist for 18 release versions, with 1.0.0 for 1.21.11 as the latest file, and the code is released under All rights reserved, so it is not open source.

Key features

  1. Hide the boss bar

A command turns the boss bar display off so it no longer covers the top of the screen.

  2. Show the boss bar again

Re-enabling the display restores the bar immediately, because its data is kept while hidden.

  3. Simple command and config

Toggling uses commands similar to vanilla bossbar commands, and a config file holds the settings.
