bobbynotes

by romashka_1

bobbynotes lets a player save coordinate notes for each world seed, so recurring server maps keep their locations between sessions.

FabricClient-side onlyMIT License1.21.11

What it does

Notes are stored per seed. The mod reads the seed through Bobby, which lets a note set follow a recurring Minecraft server map when the seed matches. Current coordinates can be inserted into a new note automatically, and existing notes can be given coordinates after they are written.

The note list can be pinned to the in-game HUD so the saved points stay visible while travelling. Individual notes can be selected and removed, or every note for the current seed can be deleted at once. Notes persist between mod updates.

The mod needs Bobby and Fabric API. It runs on the client only, so players install it alone and servers need nothing. It is published for Fabric with a single file, 1.0.0 for 1.21.11, under the MIT License, and the code is not open source.

Key features

  1. Seed-based notes

Each note is saved with the seed of the world, so a server map keeps its own set of locations.

  2. Automatic coordinates

Current coordinates are inserted into a note when it is created, without typing them by hand.

  3. Pinned HUD list

The note list can be fixed on the in-game HUD, keeping saved points in view while moving around.

  4. Selective deletion

Single notes can be chosen and removed, and all notes for the current seed can be cleared in one action.

Use cases

Recurring server maps

Players who return to the same server map can keep bases, mines and travel points noted for the next visit.

Who it’s for: Players who play on Bobby-compatible servers with a recurring map and want their coordinates kept per seed.

Questions

Does bobbynotes need Bobby to work?

Yes. Bobby is a required dependency, and Fabric API is required as well, so both must be installed next to bobbynotes.

Does the server need bobbynotes installed?

No. Only the player's game needs it, and servers run without it.

Do notes survive a mod update?

Yes. Notes persist between mod updates, so saved coordinates are kept when a newer build is installed.
