Arboreal Ascent lets players climb tree trunks the same way they climb ladders, with no extra items needed.
What it does
Players who face a tree trunk and walk into it start climbing upward, moving exactly as they would on a ladder. The mod is a simple addition built for that single behavior, and it pairs well with Passable Foliage, which makes leaves passable so climbing a tree is not blocked by its canopy. The code was written independently, with Reika Kalseki's TreeClimbing cited as the inspiration. Arboreal Ascent runs on client and server, so both the server and every player need it. It is released under the MIT License and is open source. Files cover 1.20 – 1.21.1 for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge.
