Aero-Wheeldrag-Fix
by tropfen33
Aero-Wheeldrag-Fix changes how Create Aeronautics treats wheel mount rolling drag, so aircraft can reach their takeoff speed on a runway.
What it does
Create Aeronautics applies a forward resistance to wheel mounts that can stop an aircraft from reaching takeoff speed. This NeoForge add-on removes that resistance through a configurable friction bypass, and a Friction Wrench lets a player set the forward drag coefficient to a chosen value. Normal ground handling stays as it was, including side traction, suspension and taxi steering.
Redstone signals add a braking option. When a wheel mount receives a Redstone signal, the bypass switches off for that mount so it brakes as a landing brake would. The mod needs NeoForge and runs on the client and the server, so both sides need it. It is published for 1.21.1 only, in version 1.0.3, and is released under All rights reserved, which means it is not open source. The source code is public.
Key features
Customizable rolling friction
The forward drag coefficient of wheel mounts can be adjusted with the Friction Wrench, instead of being fixed.
Friction bypass
Forward resistance can be removed entirely, so aircraft are not held back by arbitrary speed caps on the runway.
Redstone braking
A Redstone signal disables the bypass on a wheel mount, restoring braking when a pilot wants to slow down or park.
Intact ground handling
Side traction, suspension behavior and taxi steering are left untouched, so ground control stays stable.
Compatibility
Latest build for each game version and loader.
Only full game releases are shown. This mod publishes no snapshot builds.
