SimpleTimeChanger
by MyNameIsJeff
SimpleTimeChanger lets a client set the in-game clock to any value from 0 to 23999, or keep it synced to real-world time, on Minecraft 1.8.9 with Forge.
What it does
Time is set on the client only, through a fixed value between 0 and 23999 that corresponds to one in-game day. A second option ties the clock to the real time of day on the player's computer, so the sky follows wall-clock hours. Because only the client needs the mod, joining a server works without installing anything, and the change affects only the local view.
The author describes the mod as a basic time changer for Forge 1.8.9. It does not replace the whole network handler and does not overwrite the getTime method, which the author chose so that debug information used by other mods keeps working. Singleplayer worlds are intended to remain unaffected, though the author states that claim with reservation. The mod is published for 1.8.9 only, under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0 or later, so the source code is open source.
Key features
Fixed time value
Sets the clock to any value from 0 to 23999, letting the player hold a chosen point in the day.
Real-time sync
Follows the real time of day on the player's computer so the in-game sky matches the local hour.
Limited code footprint
Does not replace the entire NetHandler and leaves the getTime method alone, so other mods reading time data are not disturbed.
Essential bundled
The Essential Mod library is included inside the jar, so no separate install is needed for it.
Compatibility
Latest build for each game version and loader.
Only full game releases are shown. This mod publishes no snapshot builds.
Requirements
Dependencies declared by the latest file for each loader.

Use cases
Singleplayer photography
A player who wants a fixed sunset or night scene for screenshots can set the clock to that value and keep it there.
Matching a clock
Players who want the in-game day to follow their own time zone can enable real-time sync.
Who it’s for: Players on Minecraft 1.8.9 with Forge who want control over the clock on their own client. Server owners do not need the mod, since it changes nothing on the server side.
