Portable Blueprints

by Nimblonia

Portable Blueprints lets players scan a built structure once, store it as a blueprint item and rebuild it in the world with a single click.

ForgeNeoForgeClient and serverMIT License1.19.2 – 1.21.1

What it does

A player selects two corners with right-clicks, names the area and saves it as a structure. Saved structures can be viewed from a tablet, which also manages them, and a blueprint item is obtained to place the copy in the world. The aim is to avoid rebuilding repeated pieces such as roads, street lamps and houses by hand.

Limits are set with gamerules. Server owners can cap the number of blocks a scanner selects, the number of blueprints a player may store, and the number of containers such as chests and barrels a blueprint uses. Global blueprints can be shared across multiple worlds, and NBT data copying is available to keep block states and custom behavior, but it is disabled by default to avoid duplication issues on multiplayer servers. A placement cooldown prevents spamming.

Forge and NeoForge are the supported loaders. Files cover three game versions, 1.19.2, 1.20.1 and 1.21.1, under the MIT License, which is not open source. The latest Forge file is 2.0.11 for 1.20.1, and the latest NeoForge file is 2.0.10 for 1.21.1.

Key features

  1. One-click rebuilding

A scanned structure becomes a blueprint that can be placed again instantly, instead of being rebuilt block by block.

  2. Area selection and naming

Two corners are picked by right-clicking blocks, and the selected area is named and saved as a structure.

  3. Tablet management

A tablet lists saved structures and lets players view and manage the blueprints they have stored.

  4. Gamerule limits

Maximum blocks per scan, blueprints per player, containers per blueprint and simultaneous blueprints are all adjustable through gamerules.

  5. Optional NBT copying

Copying NBT data keeps block states and custom behavior, and it is turned off by default.

  6. Placement cooldown

A cooldown can be set between blueprint placements to prevent spamming.
