Money & Sign Shops

A shop is a sign attached to a block with an inventory, and vanilla chests, barrels, hoppers and furnaces all qualify, as do storage blocks from other mods and machines. The shop uses the top face of the block to insert and the other faces to extract. Only admins can activate a shop on a server, and the first line of the sign must be one of the four shop types, while the next lines are free text such as a description, and the last line sets the price, which accepts decimals, thousand separators and currency symbols.

Shop types cover buying and selling with player stock or with infinite server stock. A buy shop takes money from the player and hands over items from the container, a sell shop takes items from the player's inventory and transfers money to the shop owner, and the server variants do the same with an unlimited supply. Several items can be traded together for money, such as a tool kit. Players can see their balance and transfer funds to each other. Money & Sign Shops is server-side only and is released under the MIT License as open source, with files for NeoForge across 1.21 – 1.21.3.
