MC Sigma is a Beta fork that adds ocean terrain, a taller world, arcane spell creation and cauldron brewing to the early Minecraft build.

What it does

Players who want an older feel get a Beta base with new blocks and survival features. The fork extends the world upward to double the usual height while keeping the same world format, and alpha-style monoliths form past 3000 blocks. Nether progression, animal taming and a new music track by Askew round out the content.

Multiplayer is supported, and the mod runs on client and server, so the server and every player need it. Servers that run it can be reached by players on the same Wi-Fi, or from outside through a port forward on the router. The build is published for b1.7.3 only, with snapshot builds available alongside releases. Installation uses ModLoader, and the code is released under All rights reserved, so the mod is not open source. The game needs about 1000 MB of RAM, and the archive is unpacked with a zip tool such as 7-Zip on a Java 8 system.
