Elytra Mining

by Taskeren

Elytra Mining lets a player with an elytra dig large areas while gliding over the ground, for players who clear ore veins.

ForgeClient and serverMIT LicenseOpen source1.7.10

What it does

Two hammer tools break a flat or cubic area of blocks at once, the same pattern used by the hammers of Thermal Foundation. The mod also changes how torches behave during digging, so a torch attached to a block that breaks falls off like sand instead of being lost. CoFH Core is required and must be installed next to Elytra Mining.

Elytra Mining is published for Forge only, in a single version for 1.7.10, with 1.2.0 as the latest file from 2023-01-04. Installation covers the server and each player's game. The code is open source under the MIT License.

Key features

  1. Area hammers

Two hammer types break a flat or cubic area of blocks in one action, which speeds up work in large ore veins.

  2. Falling torches

A torch attached to a broken block drops as an item when that block is removed, so torches are not lost during digging.

  3. Large ore veins

The mod is aimed at players who work through very large ore deposits and want to clear them faster than block by block.

What the author says

This mod adds 2 type of hammers that can break a flat/cubic area, which should be same to the Thermal Foundation one in 1.12+ by CoFH Team. And a torch that will be falling when the block that the torch attached is destroyed, like sand. This is quite helpful when mining a huge area, and you don't want to replace all…
