Easier Sneak

Easier Sneak lets players switch sneaking on and off with a toggle, so the Shift key does not have to be held down.
What it does
Holding Shift to stay crouched is tiring during long building sessions or extended exploration. Easier Sneak changes this: a toggle keeps the crouch active until it is switched off, and the sneak state can be turned off again with the same key. Ctrl and Shift together work as an alternative binding. The mod is client-side only, so a server does not need it and players can join without installing anything. It is released under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only and is open source. Files exist for Fabric and NeoForge, both for 1.21.1.
Key features
Sneak toggle
Pressing the sneak key once keeps the crouch active, and pressing it again returns to normal movement.
Shift toggle mode
A separate toggle mode can be set so that Shift itself switches sneaking on and off.
Disable sneak mode
The toggle can be turned off entirely, restoring the default hold-to-sneak behavior.
