CustomRecipes

by mehboss

CustomRecipes is a Java Agent plugin for Paper, Spigot, Bukkit, Purpur and BungeeCord servers that lets server owners define custom crafting, smelting and stonecutting recipes.

Java AgentMozilla Public License 2.0Open source1.8.8 – 1.21.11

What it does

Server owners write their own recipes in the plugin configuration, covering crafting grids, furnaces and stonecutters. Recipe results can carry custom names, lore and item attributes, and a recipe can be blacklisted or fully overridden so that a vanilla recipe no longer works as before. Recipes can also be removed by key when a server wants to change how a vanilla item is crafted.

The plugin supports a set of data options that go beyond plain items: spawners, colored leather armor, potions, stored enchantments and NBT data can all be used as recipe results. Placeholders from PlaceholderAPI are available in messages, and the plugin's own placeholders can be used in response messages shown to players who craft an item. PlaceholderAPI must be installed on the server for these to work.

The plugin is for server owners on the listed server platforms, and players join without installing anything. Files cover game versions 1.8.8 – 1.21.11 with 62 release versions, and the latest Java Agent file is 2.0.6.0 for 1.21.11. The plugin is open source under the Mozilla Public License 2.0, and public links to its source code, issue tracker and wiki are available.

Key features

  1. Custom crafting recipes

Players can craft items from recipes the server owner defines, including recipes for furnaces and stonecutters.

  2. Recipe overrides and blacklists

A recipe can be blacklisted, or a vanilla recipe can be removed by its key so the server can change how it is crafted.

  3. Custom model data

Items can be given a specific custom model data value, which lets them use texture pack models for vanilla items on versions 1.14 and later.

  4. Item attributes

Attributes such as attack damage and knockback can be changed on specific items, and effects such as poison can be applied to weapons.

Use cases

Who it’s for: Server owners on Paper, Spigot, Bukkit, Purpur or BungeeCord who want to define their own recipes, item attributes or custom model data. The plugin is not a client mod, so players join without installing anything.

Questions

Does CustomRecipes require PlaceholderAPI?

PlaceholderAPI must be installed on the server for the placeholder features to work. The plugin's own placeholders are listed in its documentation.

Which server platforms does CustomRecipes run on?

It runs on Paper, Spigot, Bukkit, Purpur and BungeeCord, as a Java Agent plugin. Players do not need to install anything.

Can CustomRecipes change vanilla recipes?

Yes. A vanilla recipe can be removed by its key, or a recipe can be blacklisted, so the server can change how a vanilla item is crafted.

What the author says

Create any recipe to make any item you desire. Anything found in-game can be done using CR! Use your imagination to make hundreds of custom items and recipes! Blacklisting a recipe listens for the result while crafting, triggering any response or messages to the player, while overriding a recipe completely removes…
