AdvancedChatFilters Modernized lets players and servers rewrite incoming chat messages through configurable filters, as a 1.21.8 – 1.21.10 fork of the original AdvancedChatFilters work.
What it does
Filters change how incoming chat appears on screen. Each filter can replace a matched phrase, change its color, rainbow the text, convert text to OwO style or Roman numerals, show a message in the action bar, or narrate it aloud. Filters can also replace the full message, so a single rule can rewrite a line before it is read.
The mod depends on AdvancedChatCore Modernized, which must be installed alongside it. Scripting is available for more complex text manipulation, but it is disabled by default because of its complexity and resource use. Its scope is limited, with several safeguards for security and stability, and the author warns against running scripts from untrusted sources.
Files are published for Fabric and Quilt for 1.21.8, 1.21.9 and 1.21.10, with 1.21.10-1.2.11 as the latest build, released 2026-01-07. The mod is licensed under the Mozilla Public License 2.0 and is open source, with its source code public.
